I will be writing about the use of AI for science writing in upcoming blogposts and even if you are not a university student, finding out what is being taught and recommended at universities is a good place to start.
I am interested in knowing how many Australian Universities have a policy on the use of Artificial Intelligence by staff and students for the purposes of teaching, learning and assessment. So, I asked ChatGPT to produce a list of all Australian University websites that include AI-related policy - see the list below from nine universities. Although this list is not complete I thought I would share it here for future reference.
If the university you are interested in is not in this list, just type the universities url plus 'AI policy' into the url address bar. I add this explanation here as some people do not know that you don't need to go to a google search bar to do a search.
For example, Adelaide University is not in this list, and my search produced three pages:
- Working with Artificial Intelligence
- Academic Integrity for Students
- Artificial Intelligence: using AI tools in your studies

ANU (Australian National University) | Guide for students: best practice when using generative AI — ANU academic integrity guidance. Australian National University |

Do you have an AI policy in your workplace? If so, I would be grateful to learn more about more examples. Please email admin@writingclearscience.com.au
